The Sea

A sea is a large body of saltwater that is usually connected to an ocean. Seas are typically located where the land and ocean meet and can be partially enclosed by land, such as the Mediterranean Sea or the Red Sea.

They are usually much smaller than oceans and can have different characteristics and properties.

Some seas, like the Baltic Sea, are relatively shallow and have low salt content, while others, like the Caribbean Sea, are much deeper and have higher salt content. Like lakes, seas are also important for human activities, such as fishing, shipping, and recreation.

They also provide habitats for a wide variety of plant and animal life, many of which are unique to the sea.

The main differentiator between a sea and an ocean is more of a geographical and conventional one, sea is a smaller body of water that is usually partially enclosed by land and generally have specific names, while ocean is a vast body of water that covers most of the Earth's surface.
